Richard Smith has been a dedicated volunteer in Hospital Radio for over 35 years, firstly at Nottingham Hospitals Radio before going on to launch Radio Robin at the Ilkeston Community Hospital in 1993.

Due to a horrific road traffic accident in September 2003 he is now semi house-bound after losing part of his right leg.

With this change in circumstance he’s created a radio studio at home and has been supplying The A to Z of Pop shows to more than 100 Hospital Radio stations in the UK, Ireland and Australia since 2004, on a charitable basis with sponsorship support.
